Frequently Asked Questions

How do I connect to Apple Health?

When you first open the app, you'll be prompted to grant access to Apple Health. If you skipped this step:

SettingsPrivacy & Security HealthVO2 Max Pro → Enable all permissions

Why don't I have any VO2 Max data?

VO2 Max is measured by your Apple Watch during outdoor walks, runs, or hikes. You need:

  • An Apple Watch (Series 3 or later)
  • At least 20 minutes of outdoor activity
  • Consistent arm motion and heart rate data
  • Location services enabled during workouts

It may take a few outdoor workouts before your watch has enough data to estimate VO2 Max.

How do notifications work?

When your Apple Watch records new VO2 Max data (usually after outdoor activities), you'll receive a notification with your latest reading.

Make sure notifications are enabled in your device settings:

SettingsVO2 Max Pro Notifications → Enable

How is biological age calculated?

We use the HUNT Linear algorithm, based on the HUNT Fitness Study with 55,000+ participants. The formula compares your VO2 Max to the expected value for your age and gender:

Biological Age = Your Age − 0.5 × (Your VO2 Max − Expected VO2 Max)

If your VO2 Max is higher than average, your biological age will be lower than your actual age.
